Monday, 26 November 2007

The question that is uppermost in everybody’s mind is whether Web 2.0 marketing is merely a craze that might burst at any time. Being a new concept there is a lot of hype that has been created about it. Many people have begun to wonder whether it is as great or effective as it is being made out to be. It won’t be out of place to first analyze the effectiveness of the Web 2.0 concept.

Web 2.0: The underlying principle of Web 2.0 is that it does not need any particular software to be installed on your computer like the browser that is necessary to access the Internet on the other computers. If anything goes wrong with the browser or the computer you won’t be able to browse the Internet. However, in the case of Web 2.0 you can use the tools of its sites through any computer at any location of the world. It does not rely on any special software to be incorporated in your computer.

Is Web 2.0 Marketing As Great As People Think?

Many people feel that Web 2.0 is merely a new name for what has been going on in the world of the Internet till now. They feel that Web 2.0 marketing will not be successful in the long run. Proponents of this view feel that this is merely a fad that will burst at any time and another new craze might take over.

There has been a sudden proliferation of Web 2.0 sites that have come up everywhere. The direct result of this expansion is that Web 2.0 marketing has become very successful and sales have shown sudden spurts. The novelty of the whole thing has attracted many people to these sites, especially the social bookmarking sites. When so many people visit these sites, it’s natural that the sales will go up. However, it is likely that this craze will rub off sooner or later. People might get bored with these sites or something new might crop up. In such a situation, there is a great likelihood of the bubble getting burst and the sales figures will tumble down.

Innovations drive the wheel of success and from the earliest computers to the modern day concept of Web 2.0, the growth has been phenomenal. Research and development is a continuous process that has given us many new technologically advanced equipments and tools. In all likelihood, Web 2.0 might be replaced by Web 5.0 in a few years time and Web 2.0 marketing will also have to take a new shape. Moreover, the name Web 2.0 has caught on like wildfire as people feel that something really great has been invented and hence the attraction towards its various websites. At the moment, Web 2.0 marketing is vibrant and is a very useful technology that is making sales figures go up all over. How long this will last is anybody’s guess.
